The Child Care and EarlyON Centre at the North Bay Indigenous Hub embodies Indigenous approaches to child care and family support by offering safe and welcoming programs that incorporate language, traditional teachings, land-based activities, storytelling, and visits from Elders. These programs are designed to support the holistic development of children emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically while promoting a strong sense of self-identity and connection to Indigenous ways of being. The Centre provides 87 child care spaces, including 10 for infants, 15 for toddlers, 32 for preschoolers, and 30 for school-age children. Our EarlyON Centre offers a warm, culturally nurturing environment where parents and caregivers can socialize and learn together, children can engage in early learning and development, and skilled child practitioners are available to connect families with additional services.
